Still Have Questions?

  • How would the Medication Therapy Management Program help me?

The Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Program gives you a chance to review your medications and ask questions — even if everything seems to be going well.

Members often find MTM helpful to:

    • Feel more confident about how and when to take their medications
    • Check for possible side effects or interactions
    • Identify lower cost medication options, when available
    • Make sure medications from different doctors are working well together
    • Identify concerns early, before they become bigger problems

The program is free and voluntary for eligible Providence Medicare Advantage members.

  • Do I need to sign up?

In most cases, no. If you meet Medicare MTM criteria, we may:

    • Enroll you automatically or
    • Contact you to invite you to participate

You always have the choice to take part or to opt out. Participation is optional.

  • How can I schedule a medication review?

You can schedule in whichever way is easiest for you:

    • Send us a message: Click here to let us know a time that works for you
    • Call us: 1-877-216-3644 (TTY:711) and select option 3, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) Monday through Friday.

Most medication reviews are completed by phone and take about 20 minutes.

  • Am I eligible?

You may be eligible for MTM if you:

    • Are enrolled in a Providence Medicare Advantage prescription drug plan
    • Take 8 or more Medicare Part D medications
    • Have 3 or more of the following health conditions:

      • High cholesterol
      • High blood pressure
      • Chronic congestive heart failure (CHF)
      • Respiratory disease (such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD])
      • Alzheimer's disease
      • Bone Disease (including arthritis, osteoporosis, or rheumatoid arthritis)
      • End-stage kidney disease
      • HIV/AIDS
      • Mental health conditions (such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other chronic or disabling mental health conditions)

    • Are identified as an at-risk beneficiary (ARBs) under a Drug Management Program (DMP)

Eligibility is determined using Medicare guidelines. If you’re eligible, we’ll let you know.

  • What happens during the call?

Your medications are first reviewed by our pharmacy team, who will:

    • Go over your prescription and over the counter medications, including supplements
    • Ask questions to make sure your medication list is complete and up to date

A clinical pharmacist then reviews your medications for safety concerns and can answer any questions you may have. If anything needs attention, a pharmacist will follow up with you.

After the review, you will receive:

    • A personal medication list
    • A medication action plan with any recommendations
  • What if I don’t want to review my medications?

That’s okay. Participation in the MTM program is optional. If you prefer not to participate, let us know using one of the options above. You can also change your mind and participate later if you choose.

  • Concerned about spam calls?

We understand that many people are concerned about spam or scam calls. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when hearing from us.

    • Providence will never ask for payment, bank information, or your Social Security Number during the call.
    • Pharmacists will verify your identity safely. You can always call us back directly using the phone number on this webpage to confirm.
    • Calls may appear from Providence or one of our partner programs. Providence also works with other trusted health organizations that provide MTM services on our behalf.
