Providence Health Plan Update

19 March 2026

Your coverage, access and service remain unchanged

Recently you may have read the news that Providence is exploring the sale of Providence Health Plan. What’s important to know is that nothing is changing now. Providence Health Plan continues normal daily operations. There are no changes to plans including benefits, provider networks and formularies. Your coverage works the same today as it always has.

Please review the frequently asked questions below and if you have additional questions, please reach out to customer service via phone at: 800-878-4445, TTY: 711, available Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Pacific Time.

Is Providence Health Plan closing?
No. Providence has shared news that it is exploring the sale of the health plan. It’s important to know that this is a process that will be ongoing for a number of months. PHP remains fully operational, and there is no disruption to benefits, access, or service at this time.

Will my benefits or premium change because of this?
There are no changes to your current benefits, coverage rules, or services as a result of this news. Providence is committed to ensuring your uninterrupted care.

Can I still see my doctor / use Providence facilities?
Yes. Your current network access is unchanged. You can continue to use in-network providers and facilities per your plan rules.

Should I find a new health plan right now?
At this time, your PHP coverage and access are unchanged. If anything changes in the future, we will communicate directly to members and customers.

Will my claims still be paid? I’m worried about a pending claim.
Yes—claims operations continue as normal.

Should I keep using my current member ID card and following the same plan rules?
Yes. Please continue using your current ID card and follow your usual plan requirements.

What about PEBB members?
PHP withdrew its proposal for the PEBB 2027–2030 contract. The current PEBB contract through 2026 will be honored, and PEBB members’ benefits and access remain unchanged today and through the duration of our contract.
