An important update about your Providence health coverage

20 мая 2026

Providence has announced that Providence Health Plan will transition out of most of its health insurance lines of business beginning in 2027. This includes Individual and Family and Employer Group/Commercial plans.

For Medicare Advantage members, Providence is actively working on a potential new agreement with another health insurance carrier that would allow current members to retain their coverage for 2027. Providence is also evaluating options for transferring the management of our Medicaid program to another organization, with final decisions expected later this year.

It’s important to know that nothing changes for members, customers, or our provider partners right now. Coverage and service will continue without interruption for all current members and customers throughout 2026 and we will honor all contractual, regulatory, and legal obligations through the duration of this transition.

We are committed to communicating openly and often as decisions are confirmed. Members, customers, employers, and broker partners will receive direct communications in the coming months to help them understand their options and plan ahead for 2027.

Our Promise to know, care for and ease the way of those we serve has guided Providence Health Plan’s work for more than 40 years. That commitment does not change. Our focus throughout this transition will be on continuing to serve members and partners with the same care and dedication they have always known from us.

For Members and Customers

Nothing changes for members and customers in 2026. Coverage and service will continue without interruption throughout 2026, and members can continue to access care, fill prescriptions, and see their doctors as they do today.

Beginning in 2027, members enrolled in Individual and Family or Employer Group/Commercial plans will need to find new coverage. Providence Health Plan will share information and resources to help members and employers understand their options and make informed decisions about their coverage for 2027.

Medicare Advantage members may be able to keep their plan in 2027. We are actively working on a potential new agreement with a national carrier, which would allow members to retain their coverage for 2027.

For Medicaid members, coverage will continue through 2026. We are currently evaluating options for transferring the management of our Medicaid program to another organization.

For Providers

This news does not change provider contracts or network relationships in 2026. Providers should continue to deliver services to Providence Health Plan and Providence Health Assurance members as long as their coverage is active and valid.

Claims processing, billing, and prior authorizations will continue normally throughout 2026. Beyond 2026, all necessary operations will be maintained to ensure claims are paid and obligations are met.

We will honor all existing contractual and legal obligations through the duration of this transition and will communicate directly with our provider partners as decisions are finalized. Please refer to the provider portal for updates as we move through this process.

For Brokers and Agents

All existing employer group and commercial contracts will be honored according to their terms. Providence Health Plan will keep broker and agent partners informed as decisions are confirmed. We are committed to providing the resources and support needed to help clients navigate this transition and find the right coverage for 2027.
