Head shot of Ryan JackProvidence Health Plan (PHP) is pleased to share that Ryan Jack has joined the organization as Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Innovation reporting directly to Cheryl Morrison, Chief Operating Officer. Throughout his 15 years in healthcare, Ryan has acquired a wealth of experience executing key roles across strategy, product, and transformation. As the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Innovation, he oversees the development and successful execution of Providence Health Plan’s enterprise strategy and the evaluation of technology and capability advancement through key partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions.

Before joining Providence Health Plan, Ryan served as Senior Director of commercial performance optimization and Interim Vice President of commercial strategy and shared services at Blue Shield of California.

Prior to Blue Shield of California, Ryan served as the Director of Strategy and Enterprise Development at United Health Group (UHG), overseeing planning, growth, and operational capability development and transformation across United Healthcare (UHC), UHC Global Domestic, UHC Global International, and acquired UHG companies; collectively impacting around 24 million members across a half-dozen countries. Ryan also served in the U.S. Army, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 as an infantryman and again in 2006 as a special agent.

Ryan earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Northcentral University, a Master of Criminal Justice from Boston University, a Master of Science in Management from Troy University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California at Davis. Additionally, he has completed the Advanced Project Management program from the University of Utah and the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program from Villanova University. 

Ryan lives in California with his wife, three children, and two dogs. When he isn’t working or driving super active kids around, he actively mentors and teaches undergraduate and community college students in New Jersey and Ohio.
